SounsPlay Workshop

Souns is an early literacy program created by Counterpane founder Brenda Erickson. Souns uses touchable symbols to teach letter-sounds rather than letter names which research has shown is how children actually learn to read. Our free program engages and makes sense to infants and toddlers and allows caregivers to be a part of the process in a fun way that is easy to learn and requires no teaching skills!

Our free workshops are also a great way to meet other families in the area so come play with us!
